Cloverfield a disappointment
Just finished watching Cloverfield at Tampines. Had to say, as a movie, it wasn't that bad!
I mean really, the action, the plot, the way the shots have been taken to look as if it was really shot by a video camera. In fact, I believe that this is one of the only few movies ever that shakes so violently that it can make people puke. Really, if you are watching this movie, either go in empty-stomach or come out emptied-stomach. Plastic bags just in case.
But, as Cloverfield, I think it is a disappointment. You see, the hype generated by this movie is truly colossal. It makes you have high hopes for the movie. However, it does not perform as well as you though it should. The effects, the acting, the duration, the shitty ending. It does not justify the $10 you spent on the movie and the days of waiting to watch the movie. All in all, not bad, but not good either.
4/10
This brings me on to a theory. When there is a hype generated on the movie, the movie is a bad one. The bigger the hype, the worse the movie. For instance, Spiderman 3. People keep talking about it, and it does not perform.
