Graduation Day
After 3 years in polytechnic, this is what most people will like to see. Going up a stage and receiving a diploma. So, I think it is a good time to recollect the past 3-4 years of life as a polytechnic student.
Year 1 - The fun year
Thing always start from scratch, relationships too. Had the best fun year because
1) There was nothing much to do
2) We are all new to poly life
3) There were big breaks in the timetable to fill in, and
4) We are together in the same class
We had a taste of geting to choose some of your subjects. For example, I opted for Basic Japanese course. I still remember moving about schools for these courses, and meeting new friends and going out for lunch or breaks together, and staying till 7pm for lessons, complaining that that is very late. Obviously, I have not experience the next 2 years.
Year 2 - The big bang
Initally, we were in the same class, now, the timetable and arrangement went beserk. We were split into many different classes to balance out the good ones, and the bad ones. Controversy soon erupted and many argued that it should be done in a more professional manner. Lessons started getting more diffcult and, oh nearly forgot, we went to Vietnam for Global Citizenship together. Though seperated, our class still remained as one, nearly.
Year 3 - The pressure
Started off with the internship programme, we were sent to different companies to work as part time helpers. We learnt a lot from the experience and started dreaded working. Went to Kumamoto, Japan for an exchange programme and made new friends. After the vacation, came the big one, Major Project. Staying in school night after night after night, solving problems and code errors, I swear we have shaved off a couple of years off our lives just solving a compilation problem. After 4 months of playing, I mean pratice, we managed to pull it off and made one rather good piece of work. Time was running out for us as we knew that one day, we had to part and go find our futures.
So, this day, is the day we thank each other for the past years of blood, sweat and tears. Good times, bad times. Fun times, serious times. Joking and cocking about, poking and making fun of each other. Times that we know, are well spent.
So I would like to thank them. Lecturers, friends, families, collegues and bosses for their kind understanding and guidence. Sometimes, we might be angry at the things you do, sometimes, we just coundn't be bothered. But, all in all, a lesson learnt that we would never forget. Life lessons that will share with us till the end of time. So I would just sincerly like to say:
Buzz off
No no no...
Thank you
